CZ recently announced the CZ 600 bolt-action rifle series. The five new models will replace the CZ 527 series and CZ 557 series. However, CZ’s bolt-action rifles have been very popular with hunters for many years. These models, such as the CZ 527 or CZ 557, were available in a variety of centerfire cartridges. The CZ 600 series has replaced them. The CZ 600 series features many upgrades and improvements throughout. It is available in five configurations and ten chamberings, depending on the model.
CZ claims that the CZ 600 series has improved nearly every aspect of their bolt-action rifles. The redesigned action now features a 60-degree bolt throw with controlled-round-feed capabilities, resulting in not only faster potential cycling but also greater reliability. The 60-degree throw allows for larger scopes and all CZ 600 series rifles now have an enlarged bolt knob for better control. The new bolt release button allows you to manipulate the bolt even when the safety is engaged. This gives you greater control while loading a hot gun. The safety is now quiet, so you don’t have to worry about scaring away game. These kits will be sold separately, but will allow shooters greater versatility with the same rifle. Some models of the CZ 600 have easily adjustable triggers and the capability to reload the magazine from the top.
Below are the five new models from the CZ 600 series. Their names and appearances make it easy to see their intended roles. CZ describes the Alpha model as their “all-purpose” model. It is the only CZ 600 series model that is available in all chambering options. Mag. 8×57 IS. The 600 series models are available in only a few calibers, with only the trail model being offered. The Range model is the most accurate, guaranteeing a sub 0.75-inch MOA 5-shot group at the distance (measured with match-grade ammunition). There are many options for chambering and models available. There’s something for everyone, whether you’re a hunter who values precision and the look of wood, or a backpacker who wants a compact, modern trail rifle, the 600 series gun is worth looking at.
