Tip: Do not use a bulky powder that fills more than half of your case with the correct charge. Double-charged powders can fill the case to more than half their capacity, making it difficult to fit a bullet. Before loading the first time, tumble new brass

Tip: Before loading your first pistol cartridge, tumble the new brass in used media for at least 30 minutes. This will add enough graphite to smoothen the case entry into dies. You can also use spray lube or graphite to lubricate the case mouths. Powder Through Expander — How To Eliminate Hang-ups

Tip: It is possible to get powder-through expanders out of pistol brass loaded with a progressive presse. This is especially true for short cases. There are two options: first, you can try to deburr the inside of your cases’ mouths. To smoothen entry and exit, you can modify the radius of your powder through expander plug (see photo). Starline will perform this modification at no cost. Similar Posts: Tags: Dillon, Handgun loading, Hunter Pilant, Pistol Reloading, Progressive Press, Starline Brass
