Top female competitors like 2016 Bianchi Cup winner Tiffany Piper and Team S&W co-captain Julie Golob provide excellent advice on competitive shooting and using firearms for self defense. Muscle memory and technique are essential. Learn from other women shooters and watch YouTube videos to learn more about shooting techniques. Then, try it out! It’s not a male sport, so don’t be intimidated by the idea. “Julie Golob (Team S&W), 3-Gun and Pistol: “If you don’t understand something, ask! Shooters are some the most amazing people you will ever meet. However, we can be confusing and use a lot shooter slang. Ask! “Tori Nonaka (Team Glock),: “I always advise new shooters that they first focus on basics of gun safety. This will make them feel more confident when they learn more about the specific gun ….. Then it’s time to practice at the range. “Corey Cogdell (Olympic Trap shooter): “It is empowering for women know how to use a firearm both in a sporting environment and for self-defense. If you’re new to firearms, go to your local gun club and learn! You’ll find instructors and other shooting enthusiasts who will be more than happy to help you.
