Taurus doubles its efforts to capitalize on the success of the TX22 Competition pistol. According to Taurus, the TX22 is the most “factory-ready” target handgun ever. Taurus felt that there was more to be done to improve the pistol, which led to the TX22 Competition SCR pistol (Steel Ready Challenge). The pistol can be equipped with red dot optics, improve balance, and allow for faster sight acquisition. The SCR also features a match-grade bull barrel and a slide that has been precisely engineered. The SCR has a “skeletonized slide” with a larger ejection port, just like the TX22. This allows a red spot optic to be mounted directly to the barrel, rather than to the slide. This reduces empty shell ejection problems. The SCR ships with two adaptor plates. Each plate has two mounting patterns that can be used to accept the most popular red dots. The SCR excels in two key factory upgrades and minor finishing upgrades. The first is the TANDEMKROSS Pro Squared Compensator. Dual 45-degree angle gas venting allows for reduced muzzle rise, recoil and muzzle pressure. It also helps to balance the gun for faster target acquisition. It helps keep your optic lenses clear of gasses and debris. The second is the TANDEMKROSS Eagle’s Talon extractor. The custom extractor is precision-machined from tool steel and features a positive hook that ensures a secure grip on the cartridge. Shooters are less likely to experience failure-to-eject malfunctions when cycling high volumes. High-speed competition running and gunning are possible thanks to a high-polish custom-feed ramp and target trigger system.
