SAR USA’s SAR9 Compact pistol is the right size and the right price

Sarsilmaz has been making firearms since 1880. As someone who has owned several of their models, I can attest their quality. Although I doubt I will ever be able match the factory’s 150,000-round torture test, I can tell you that they are built to last. We had the opportunity to test one of the models at the 2021 Athlon Rendezvous. The SAR9 Compact is America’s favorite Goldilocks striker-fired, 4″ barreled pistol with a 15+1 capacity. RELATED STORY: SAR USA Lauches the New SAR9 compact, Optics-Ready Pistols For 2021. The SAR9 compact pistol has some features that are not available on higher-priced competitors. You will find a target crown, interchangeable backstraps, and side panels. Because it can serve two purposes, this size is very popular. It is small enough to conceal carry, but big enough to be comfortable at the range. I found the compact frame very comfortable to shoot with my large hands during our Athlon Rendezvous preview. The trigger guard’s generous undercut leaves plenty of grip space and allows for a strong hold. I was able to quickly knock down dueling tree targets without any warmup. The trigger is firm and breaks easily, making it easy to time shots. The contours of the grip fit perfectly in all the right places. The recoil impulse felt so natural that I didn’t even realize we were using NATO-spec 124gr by SAR USA until after we were done shooting. This pistol is comfortable to use at all ranges. I was a little disappointed with the SAR9 Compact, but we will have more. In the next issue of Ballistic Magazine, you will find a more detailed review of SAR USA SAR9 Compact. In that article, we’ll cover the pistol in greater detail, including compatibility and accuracy with American-spec ammunition. We also will discuss range experience. You won’t want to miss a pistol that shoots so well at such a low price. SARUSA.com has more information. SAR9 Compact Pistol Specifics Caliber: 9mm
