When Sig released the P320/P365, the concept of a steel chassis (or Fire Control Unit (FCU)) that contained the functional parts of a pistol within a plastic frame was not new. However, the chassis is the serialized part so you can build a wealth of options. This is exactly the purpose of the SIG Sauer Custom Works FCU Studio.

SIG Sauer Custom Works Studio P365
Sig Sauer has not only provided aftermarket options but also made many slide and frame options. With Sig’s Concierge Service and Custom Shop you can now order the exact combination of slide, barrel, and frame you want and have it made for you.
The 365XL and 365XL options are clearly less than the 320 series. There are still many options. The Custom Works Studio has a list of all 365 options. You can choose your Slide, Barrel and Guides & Springs. Magazines and Optics are also available. You can then visualize the build to your liking.
Please note that parts orders placed through Custom Works P365 Studio do not include the FCU required for a complete firearm.
Although there may be some lead-time as Sig gathers the components and builds your firearm, in today’s market, waiting time is not uncommon. Wouldn’t it be better to wait for the exact build you desire than wait for what arrives at your local gun shop?

At the time of writing, there were six frame options between the P365XL and P365XL, seven slide options, standard barrels and recoil assemblies, nine magazine choices, and two optics options.
Home stippling is made easier by the availability of inexpensive replacement grip frames. A botched stippling attempt with the Sig FCU system doesn’t cause the firearm to be destroyed, unlike a traditional pistol.
The Sig Custom Works site is clever enough not to allow you to combine parts that don’t work together as a complete firearm. It even verifies your zip code to verify legal compliance for magazine capacity.
All of it is professionally assembled by Sig Sauer and packaged as a standard production gun. This fire control unit, which is Titanium-nitride-coated by Sig Custom Works, proves that this was not another home-built project.
We’ll be publishing a complete review of our build in the next issue of Personal Defense World magazine once it’s completed. It will include our experiences with Concierge, our choices, and why we chose the build that we did. How would you build your P365XL or P365XL?
