Although 3D-printed guns are not new, Democrats are now blaming them. They don’t want to look at their failed policies like reducing gun crime to misdemeanors. It must be the guns, as with everything. This is especially true with the rise and popularity of the “ghost guns.” RELATED STORY STORY RealTalk: An In-Depth Conversation on How to Prevent School Shootings Things are looking bleak. Gun control advocates would tell you that guns are autonomous objects with free thought. As if the criminals are just concerned citizens who cling to their guns to stop the carnage. Despite their best efforts, the guns continue to kill, despite their best efforts. The guns are now reproducing themselves, much like The Terminator. They are literally reproducing. It is alarming and must be stopped. We know this is absurd. The Biden Administration is not stopping them from targeting them in a new gun-control push. According to Yahoo News, “The justice Department will open a national “Ghost Gun Initiative” to pursue federal charges against those involved with the trade in such weapons, President Joe Biden said.” It is likely a combination of both. Media to the rescue Yahoo News reports that “The Bureau of Alcohol Tobacco and Firearms” (ATF), claimed that 10,000 guns were recovered in 2019. According to a New York Times report, about 25,000 privately-made guns have been confiscated across the country since 2016. According to a New York Times report, 325 guns were used in homicides. A senior US official said this on Thursday. However, Fox13 reported that while ATF “reports that only limited numbers of 3-D-printed firearms have been used for crimes,’ it doesn’t have a clear system for keeping track of homemade weapons seized from crime scene.” To be clear, the ATF admits that a small number of 3D-printed guns have been used in a crime. They don’t have a system to keep track of them. Yahoo News has an “anonymous source” that gives an exact number 3D gun-related homicides, but it doesn’t cite one source. People in corporate media are left wondering why no one trusts their work. What do you think? We like to get your opinion on hot topics so we reached out to you. In our weekly Real Talk segment on Facebook last Wednesday, we asked you what your thoughts were about 3D printed guns. One reader views them the same as corporate manufacturing. “Absolutely no problem with them whatsoever.” They are inanimate objects, just like guns made using more traditional methods.” Another reader says, “Live as you will with them in any manner.” You can print as many as you like.” But, are homemade firearms risky? Perhaps because of the legality, lack of knowledge, or lack thereof. One reader believes that you can do what you want, at your own risk, and it is “an interesting hobby.” Not to be restricted. Let the buyer (and builder!) beware.” One reader says they are only used as a last resort, but won’t discount them. Another commenter isn’t so sure about the legality: “Interesting idea, but has a long road to go before it becomes a viable option to LEGAL carry/defense.” One reader said, “As a last resort,” but also that they won’t discount them. There are inherent risks to 3D printing, but as with all things, sometimes you just have to say “I would love one.” Sign up for the Personal Defense World newsletter today!
