Concealed Az Is Now Participating In The Arizona Department Of Public Safety’s (AZ DPS) Online CCW Application Process!

If You Are Applying Online
- To apply AFTER CLASS online. Go to https://azdpsccw.permitium.com/ccw/application?permittype=new
As part of the new application process you will need images of documents READY to upload when you click on the DPS application link.
APPLE/IPHONE USERS CANNOT USE APPLE HEIC IMAGES. THEY MUST BE CHANGED TO JPEG OR PDF.
To convert HEIC to JPEG if you can email the image to yourself.
OR YOU CAN
If you open an HEIF image in Photos or Preview on your Mac, choose File > Export, then choose a format such as JPEG or PNG before saving.
OR YOU CAN
Go to Settings > Camera.
Tap Formats.
Tap Most Compatible. This setting is available only on devices that can capture media in HEIF or HEVC format, and only when using iOS 11 or later, or iPadOS.
All new photos and videos will now use JPEG format
NEXT MOVING ON TO NEXT STEP
When inputting your username and password with AZ DPS/Permitium you cannot use autofill. YOU MUCH CHECK YOUR FIRST AND LAST NAME TO MAKE SURE THERE IS NO SPACE AFTER YOUR FIRST OR LAST NAME. IF you have 2 last names you must delete the space between your 2 last name. For example you name is John Quincy Smith Jones you must register with DPS/Permitium as SmithJones OR Smith-Jones hyphenated with absolutely no spaces before, in the middle or at the end of your name.
- This is important because when you create your account with fieldprint your first and last name must match EXACTLY with NO spaces
AFTER YOU CREATE AN ACCOUNT BY INPUTTING YOUR NAME IN INFORMATION AND WELL AS ANSWERING THE QUESTIONS BEFORE YOU PAY YOU WILL HAVE TO UPLOAD YOUR DOCUMENTS.
When you near the end of your application you will have to upload your documents. “Certificate of Firearms Competency” and Drivers license etc
BEFORE ANY OTHER DOCUMENT, THE FIRST DOCUMENT YOU WILL HAVE TO UPLOAD IS “Demonstrated Competence With a Firearm” before any other document. Failure to upload that document first with result in not being able to complete you online application because it will cause error.
- There is a box with a + symbol that you can click to upload necessary documents. PDF or JPEG NO Apple HEIC
- Then from the choices choose “Demonstrated Competence With a Firearm”
Next you can upload your other documents like your drivers license or passport images. Do not load these images before Demonstrated Competence With a Firearm or your application will error out and you will be stuck.
If you were born outside of the United States, on a Military base, Embassy, ETC. or are a naturalized citizen you will need to add proof of citizenship document that you are uploading to DPS same JPEG OR PDF.
Next look for 2 places to sign your application. Spot 1 is typing in your initials, spot 2 is a white box that you will have to sign with your finger on touch screen or phone, or with you mouse on a PC
After your submission you need to print off a COVER SHEET with your ORDER NUMBER on it to put in your packet to mail in your fingerprint cards to: Concealed Weapon Unit PO Box 6499 2222 W. Encanto Blvd Phoenix, AZ 85009-6488
If you submit your application online you will get an email from AZ DPS (watch spam email too) from permitium.azdps.com telling you to go to get electronic fingerprints at a FieldPrint provider.
- If you got your fingerprints at class you can ignore going to a FieldPrint provider
If you are applying with a paper application then
Put your fingerprints, application, certificate of completion and copy of the front of your driver’s license in a 9 x 12 envelope and mail it to Concealed Weapon Unit PO Box 6499 2222 W. Encanto Blvd Phoenix, AZ 85009-6488
