Also, weight is important. You should also consider additional ammunition, a tactical flashlight and/or a knife. As a retired officer in law enforcement (LEO), I will carry a concealed handgun. As I get older, I find it less appealing to keep 5 pounds of gun and other gear within close proximity to my waistline. I want something that is effective, but I also don’t want to have to apply pain-soothing cream or take a few acetaminophen pills after an outing.
