Recently, one of the largest Precision Rifle Matches of the year was held. Nearly 200 shooters competed at the 2024 Hornady Precision Rifle Challenge. It was held on June 28-29 2024, outside of Evanston Wyoming, just across the state border in Utah. The match consisted of 19 challenging stages. The match consisted of 200 rounds of ammunition with “off-trail” walking between stages. Natural terrain made the match exciting. George Gardner and Bryan Sikes from GA Precision were the co-match directors. Gardner said that the 2024 event was a success: “The Hornady PRC 2024 was a huge hit.” The course of fire was challenging, and the weather was perfect for a precision rifle event. Open Division Competitor Andrew Slade won the Overall Match. The Hornady Precision Rifle Challenge, one of the largest PRS matches in the year, is a long-range competition with a unique terrain and elevation changes. This was not a typical PRS Pro Series Match. The participants in this Precision Rifle match face conditions that are not typical of other tactical matches.
