9mm Compact Double-Stack Pistol Reviews — 5 Miracle 9mms

October 12, 2021 9mm Compact Double Stack Pistol Reviews — Five Miracle 9mms Are You looking for a 9mm handgun to conceal carry (CCW), or self-defense? Guns America Digest has just published a 5-gun comparison review. This detailed article and accompanying video focus on the “Miracle 9” category of 9mm micro-compacts, which can hold 10 or more rounds with no need for extended magazines. All five pistols are concealable and striker-fired. These pistols are compared: Ruger MAX-9 and SIG Sauer P365; Smith & Wesson M&P Shield Plus; Springfield Armory Hellcat; and Taurus GX4. Here are the key highlights of Guns America’s 5-pistol roundup review. This is just a small sample, but we recommend that you read the complete Guns America Digest comparison review.
L to R: Ruger MaX-9, Springfield Armory Hellcat. S & W M&P Shield Plus. Taurus GX4, SIG Sauger. P365. Ruger MAX-9 “The Ruger MaX-9 is the only pistol of this class that comes standard with a slide that is ready to mount a red-dot optical. The MAX-9 also has an impressive pair sights. The front sight is a long, narrow one that houses a yellow-florescent fiber optic. The slide stop control is small and difficult to use as a slide-release – a common characteristic for Ruger handguns. SIG Sauer P365 “The P365 is the first Miracle-9 to hit the market and it literally shook the industry. Despite rumors of intermittent issues or quality concerns, the market bought this pistol in large numbers. It pays to be first to market. There are about a dozen variations of the P365, some quite distinct — such as the XL model with its longer barrel length and slide. [Note: The reviewer focuses on the P365 SAS model, which has flush-mount fiberoptic sights.] Smith & Wesson M&P Shield PLUS “The Shield is the most popular micro-compact 9mm handgun over the past decade. The Shield Plus is a gun that has millions of rounds of experience, credibility, proven ergonomics, and the presumption for its staunch reliability. There are many options available, including sight upgrades and an optional manual safety switch. Springfield Armory Hellcat “The Hellcat has a great set of sights called “U-Dot”, and a very nice trigger. The rear grip safety, which is available on XD models, is not available on the Hellcat. The Hellcat is available with or without an optic slide. An additional option is the inclusion of an optical. Taurus GX4 “The GX4 closely follows the TX22 in terms ergonomics and grip texture. The controls are well placed, and work very well. The P365 SAS has a takedown lever that does not protrude from the frame. Instead, it uses a rotating pin. The trigger on the GX4 was not ideal, according to this reviewer. Should the Glock 43X have six Miracle 9mms? (Adding a Glock 43X to the Comparison) A Sheriff’s Deputy commented on Guns America’s review that the Glock 43X should be added to the comparison. “I’ve had a SIG P365 since the release. It’s great. It has been my constant companion on off duty for many years as a Deputy Sheriff. Although Hellcat was a nice gun, paper and shot times don’t lie. I was less precise and slower with it. It was better than Sig for other officers. Shoot what you like, as we all know. Now, I have two Glock 43XMOS. Factory night sights, and a trigger connector to attach add-ons. I was surprised by those guns. They beat my Sig times and were accurate the same, excellent. I have been carrying a 43x more. The 43x is definitely worth a look. Here’s the Glock 43X silver slide version (10+1 3.39). barrel): Similar Posts
