A desperate President Biden targets ammunition in the Gun Control Effort

President Joe Biden isn’t a fan of many things about guns. He calls Modern Sporting Rifles (MSRs) “weapons for war.” He is also very angry at privately manufactured firearms PMFs, or the scary “ghost guns,” which have been around since before America was founded. Forget accessories. Standard capacity magazines are enough to scare him. Biden is not as mad about ammunition, however. RELATED STORY A Poll shows that the U.S. has the lowest support for a semi-auto ban. President Biden targets the availability of ammunition. There is no other explanation for why he and his government are tangled with ammunition. Although the White House’s press personnel deny it, NSSF learned from Winchester Ammunition from which they were informed that M855/SS109 ammunition sales to civilians at the Lake City, Mo. facility were being canceled. This could result in the loss of 30 percent of ammunition used by law-abiding citizens on AR-15 style rifles. It could also put at risk the livelihoods of up to 500 workers and the ability of the Defense Department to increase ammunition production during higher operational tempo periods. Winchester Ammunition operates the Lake City, Mo. ammunition production facility under contract. Winchester sells surplus ammunition made during normal operations. This is how they can sustain the workforce that provides a surge of capacity to the Defense Department during wartime. Winchester would have to reduce its workforce if ammunition sales were stopped. This would put the production facility at serious risk of not being able to fulfill its mission on a wartime basis. Spiking Senate Talks It is obvious that a potential policy was chosen at the wrong time. The U.S. lead Democrat The senator asked President Biden not to interfere with delicate negotiations on legislation to address the tragedy at Uvalde in Texas. Senator Chris Murphy (D-Conn.), resigned from his ideas of gun bans or raising the legal age to legally buy a long gun. President Biden laughed off the criticism and said that the legislative framework was not sufficient. Sen John. Cornyn (Republican from Texas) left Washington, D.C., after negotiations over legislative text were unsuccessful. The White House was also informing Winchester Ammunition, quietly, that they were considering experimenting with “green-tip” ammunition sales. Again. Tried and failed This is not the first time President Biden attempted to stop the sale of surplus ammunition. The Obama-Biden administration proposed regulations through the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives to ban the sale of popular ammunition in 2015. The administration tried to repeal the exemption for “sporting purposes” for popular “green-tip” ammunition. They claimed it wasn’t eligible for the exemption because it was “armor-piercing ammunition” and that it was becoming more popular in AR-pistols. This ammunition is not considered “armor-piercing ammunition” by the Gun Control Act. The exemption was granted and sought out out of an excess of caution. It was never a requirement. The ATF’s 2015 move was, of course based on a loose interpretation of scientific data. Hunting enthusiasts are well aware that many handguns can accept rifle calibers for sporting purposes. Gun owners were furious at this. Over 310,000 comments were received on the Federal Register about the ATF’s proposal. When 238 U.S. Congressmen participated, they were able to get involved. Representatives signed a letter to ATF expressing “serious concerns” about the proposed policy. 52 other Senators also signed their own letters. Robert Cotroll, a George Washington University law professor and expert on gun laws, called the proposal “a backdoor way to try to limit public access to AR-15.” It was dropped. This was true up to now. According to White House press representatives, no such proposal had ever been considered. It was hard to believe that Winchester Ammunition officials had reached out to NSSF to express concerns about the potentially damaging proposal. When it comes to ammunition, the Biden administration isn’t very credible. No Credibility: The president claimed that there was no rational basis to 9 mm handgun ammunition. President Biden stated that the.22 caliber bullet would lodge in the lungs and that it was possible to get it out. A 9mm bullet can blow the lungs out of the body. It is a dangerous idea to use a high caliber weapon. It’s popular for civilian protection and law enforcement. A federal agent with 15 years’ service called the president’s 9mm claim “bullsh*t.” A second with 20 years said that it was “not possible.” A 21-year veteran with the U.S. Marshal fugitive Recovery Task Force told Breitbart that President Biden claimed 9mm is ,”… impossible.” A 21-year veteran of the U.S. military said, “Not possible.” Target Hunting Ammo After discovering that the administration is trying to make a Faustian deal for hunters, the White House’s credibility in ammunition is further eroded. The U.S. The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service (USFWS), proposed a rule that would allow hunting on 19 National Wildlife Refuges in exchange for a ban of traditional lead-core ammunition. The Proposed Rule has no scientific basis and comes on the heels anti-hunting group Center for Biological Diversity (CBD) petition asking for a Secretarial Order requiring that traditional ammunition be phased out of the Refuge System. This would also allow for formal rulemaking to eliminate traditional ammunition by Sept. 30, 2024. CBD is also involved in a “sue-and-settle” scheme with USFWS. USFWS was contacted by the anti-hunting group to request that traditional ammunition be banned. USFWS quickly moved into settlement discussions, which continue today. The Biden administration is not content with guns and accessories. It can be measured in 62 grains and one “green tip” at a given time. Story originally posted on NSSF.org.
