Canadians are experiencing it now as Prime Minister Justin Trudeau invoked Canada’s Emergency Powers Act to violate Canadians’ rights for 30 days. They face a mandatory gun confiscation deadline. Gun control advocates and their allies within elected office plan every day to destroy the Second Amendment. Gun control takes a different route when legislative attempts to impose more gun restrictions are unsuccessful. Financial service providers, banks, and corporate boardrooms are implementing gun control by discriminating against and inhibiting lawful businesses that provide a Constitutionally-protected right to own firearms. This new angle of attack is being countered by the firearm industry through federal and state-level nondiscrimination legislation. But it will be the voters who decide what gun control politicians do with their restrictions. Voters are supporting more gun control at a record low level, but lawful firearm purchases have reached new heights. Americans are realizing in real time how fragile their rights can be if they don’t fight for them.
