June 20th, 2030Modern long range benchrest rifles can achieve remarkable accuracy. During the recent Rendezvous Match held at the Vapor trail Valley shooting club, some outstanding targets were shot. This is a combined match that includes relays at 600 and 1,000 yards. Be amazed at how accurate modern rifles are at these distances. Match director Tom Jacobs reports that “We had two screamer groupings under an inch at 600 yards and six groups below 3? at 1000 yards. Three of them were under 2.5 feet? screamers. “New Range Records at 1000 Yards – 1.338” 5-Shot GroupDave Way set the Vapor Trail Record for a single 5-shot group. He had a wickedly small 1.338 MOA group. Group (0.128 MOA), with a score of 49.
New Small Group Record for Single Target at 600 Yards – 0.645 (0.103 MoA)

Al Benarroch enjoyed a fantastic weekend. He won the 1600-yard Ultimate Agg (Grand Total), the 1000-yard Group Agg of 8 targets with 4.953 and the 1000 yard 8 target Overall. Al had a great weekend! The match was a huge success. Tom Jacobs, match director, posted: “We finally had good weather for a match. The temperatures were mild, which is unusual for this time of year. The winds were not bad, but we did experience the quick switches that are so famous in the valley. Mirage was not always good, but there were no dam hurricanadors this time! We hung 778 targets on the range, and that’s not counting all the tuning targets we used throughout the week. We estimate that 9336 rounds were fired down range during the match. This does not include the tuning targets throughout the week.
