If every state were like Vermont, law-abiding gun owners would be able to travel freely with their firearms without any restrictions. Many states have a history that are hostile to gun owners traveling abroad. New Jersey has some the strictest firearms laws in America. Your firearm must be loaded in a locked container and kept out of reach in the vehicle’s passenger compartment. The New Jersey Supreme Court ruled, and anyone who travels within the state will be held accountable for violating these regulations. The N.J. Be extremely cautious when traveling through New York with firearms. New York’s general approach to firearms is to make it illegal to possess handguns or so-called “assault weapon” weapons. There are many localities that have their own rules regarding the possession, registration and transportation of firearms, including Albany, Buffalo and New York City. A New York City handgun permit or a special permit issued by the city Police Commissioner is required to be allowed to possess a handgun in New York City. This license is valid for a state license in the city. Except for a limited exception, New York state licenses do not generally apply within New York City. A permit is required to possess a shotgun or rifle in New York City. Non-residents can also apply for a certificate of registration. Gun owners should be aware of these more dangerous states
