March 13, 2022 – Check ALL your gear BEFORE you leave the range! A Colorado man was last year shooting pistols at a Colorado range. The shooter left behind a special back-pack that contained two 9mm handguns as well as ammo, hearing protection, other gear, after his range session. The smaller pistol looks to be a Smith & Wesson P2.0 compact, while larger handgun looks more like a SIG Sauer P320 Nitron full-size. The combined current value of these two handguns (with mags), was more than $1200.00. What was the total value for the forgotten items? Add to the handguns’ worth the cost of ammo ($150+), hearing protection ($50+), and the range backpack and accessories ($150). The poor shooter left more than $1500.00 worth guns, ammo and gear on the bench. An honest member of our Shooters Forum found his backpack stuffed with guns and ammo. The Forum member posted a notice about the missing items on the club’s website. The goal was to safely return the guns or gear to their rightful owners. I wanted to fire up a 7mm-08 before it got too hot. I found the backpack that had been left behind the day before, on a bench. The backpack contained two pistols and was filled to the gills of magazines, ammo, and ear protection. There was no owner ID. I left a large note at the range stating that I found the pack and my phone number. Soon, I will post a notice on our shooting club website indicating that I found the pack. This is not the first time. Last fall, I found a Ruger77.30-06 rifle in a rifle rack. It was returned to the owner a few days later. Guys, slow down! Before you leave the range, take a look around! Make sure you have all your guns and gear. HAPPY ENDING — Guns and Gear Returned to Owner” After coming to my house, the very happy owner was reunited to his pack. He saw my note on the bench and drove to the range at 1:00 pm. He called and identified the contents. A happy ending is what I love! READ Forum Thread.
