President Joe Biden continues to reverse all that was good about Trump’s presidency. Biden takes aim again at America’s law-abiding gun owner. Biden plans to get the United States back in the anti-gun United Nations Arms Trade Treaty.

Anti-Gun Biden Wants the U.S. to Remain in UN Arms Trade Treaty
William Malzahn, a representative of the State Department, recently revealed the new scheme. According to Washington Examiner, he spoke at the 7th Conference of States Parties to Arms Trade Treaty. “I am here from Washington, D.C., this Week to take the podium on the Agenda item Treaty Universalization to emphasize the United States’ ongoing commitment to responsible international trade in conventional weapons.”
Before we get started, let’s take a look at some background.
The ATT was signed into law by President Barack Obama in December 2014. Its rather innocuous goal was “establishing international standards for the import, transfer and export of conventional arms.”
It might not seem too bad at first glance. Obama and his company hoped that the United States would be more open to enacting strict gun laws. It establishes a plan for global registration that includes U.S. gun owners.
Donald Trump announced his decision to leave the ATT two years ago at the NRA Annual Meetings. Trump then took out an ink pen in front of the crowd in Indianapolis. He “un-signed” the 2013 signature of John Kerry, former Secretary of State.
Trump declared, to thunderous applause, “Under my Administration we will never surrender American sovereignty anyone.” “We will not allow foreign bureaucrats or politicians to violate your Second Amendment freedom. That is why my administration will never sign the U.N. Arms Trade Treaty.”
Potential Registration Scheme
Pro-gun advocates are concerned that the ATT could be a registration scheme. It could include U.S. gunowners if the U.S. is a member. We all know from personal experience that registration is a sure way to be confiscated.
Another concern is the treaty’s potential to add amendments without consensus from all parties. It should be alarming that the proponents refuse to clarify that it does not restrict possession of small arms by U.S citizens should be alarming.
The NRA sent a tweet Wednesday warning about the ATT’s activities by Biden.

The NRA followed up with a tweet: “@StateDept official William Malzahn spoke August 31, 2011 at the Seventh Conference of States Parties the Arms Trade Treaty. He made it clear that the Biden Administration is committed international gun control.”
NRA Pushes Back
Later that day, NRA also tweeted: “This is the first step toward creating a global firearms register. The President Biden wants foreign bureaucrats to have control over the rights law-abiding Americans. The NRA will fight this every step of the road.
One thing is certain: The current administration’s strong focus upon infringing on the rights of America’s law-abiding firearm owners means that we don’t have to fight an international gun control movement simultaneously. Pro-gun activists need to fight this move with all they have–just as they did when the U.S. joined the ATT.
