BLING Tactical – Red Hot Savage 10 BA Stealth

July 29th, 2021
We found a striking Savage Model 10 BA Stealth on the 6.5 Creedmoor facebook page. Derek P., the rifle owner, has made some significant upgrades to his firearm, including a McGowen barrel with a wicked spiral-fluted McGowen barrel and red-painted flutes. The red theme was carried to the chassis, which is a combination of fire-engine red and matte black in its middle. To match the red theme, scope rings and magazine were also painted red. As you can see, the effect is quite striking.

The barrel is a 29-inch McGowen 1:8?-twist McGowen. The optic is a Vortex Razor HD GenII, 4.5-27x56mm with sunshade. Protektor DR Bag is our favorite rear sandbag. It is extremely stable. Protektor also makes the front sandbag. The new Protektor Aluminum Rest with Mariners Wheel is the front Rest. If you look closely, you’ll notice a flat 2.5-inch block under the forearm. This improves stability and tracking.

We love the upgraded rear buttstock section. This is not standard. Derek, the rifle owner, has fitted an aftermarket XLR Tactical Lite Buttstock which fits perfectly in the Protektor DR rear pack. This unit has an adjustable buttpad and a cheek-rest (with an upgraded pad from Tactical Works). The XLR can be easily fitted with a tactical bag rider or can be made your own.

This video shows the factory-fresh Savage 10 BA Stealth. You can see how different the stock cheekpiece/cheekpiece assembly looks compared to Derek’s Red Hot Savage.
