Bloomberg, an anti-gun billionaire, is back at it. He is demanding money and not realizing that Americans don’t listen to gun control slogans. Instead, they are arming themselves at historic levels.

Bloomberg Grass Roots Volunteers Attempt to Target 2022 Midterm Election

Bloomberg’s Everytown for Gun Safety Victory Fund will drop $3 million to recruit “grassroot volunteers” to run for elected office. This includes school boards, Congress, and Congress in the 2021-2022 election cycle. This is in addition to the gun control work of Moms Demand Action (and Students Demand Action).

This is a lot of work. It also costs a lot. Bloomberg appears to be getting an early down payment for potted plants in his public offices, instead of the grassroots. Bloomberg loves this strategy. All things look green when they are covered with cash.

Take a look at the last election cycle. Bloomberg’s Everytown pledged $60 Million in 2020 Congressional and Presidential elections. He increased the stakes when he spent $500 million on his own attempt to buy the presidential ticket. He also poured $100 million into Florida to ensure President Joe Biden’s anti-gun agenda.

He and his gun control Congressional allies are also ignoring the fact that more than 8.4 million people purchased a gun in 2020 for the first time. Last year, there were 21 million background checks on gun sales. This is a record. Over 11 million background checks were conducted for gun sales in 2021, which is close to last year’s pace.

More Cheddar, please

President Biden has so far identified the butter that goes into his bread. David Chipman, a former Everytown gun control student, was nominated to be the director of the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives. President Biden’s Department of Justice published two proposed rules to restrict Second Amendment rights. The first rule would ban home-built firearms, redefining frames as well as receivers. The second would ban braces for AR-pistols and disenfranchise wounded veterans. This device was originally intended for wounded vets. It would turn the owners of millions of these devices into felons in a matter of hours.

It almost seems like Bloomberg is getting bargain basement pricing at $3 million. Bloomberg plans to purchase 200 “gun violence” survivors, activists, and volunteers to run for elected office. Demand a Seat says that the program will offer educational training on the essentials of building and running successful campaigns.

The Demand a Seat program will include training with Atlanta’s Democratic mayor Keisha Lance Bottoms. She is a former New Orleans Democratic mayor Mitch Landrieu. Lucy McBath (D.Ga.) was a Moms Demand volunteer. David Jolly, a former Republican Rep. from Florida, was also a part of the Demand a Seat program.

Tea Leaves

Bloomberg and Everytown may be misinterpreting the tea leaves. Despite President Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris taking The White House, the 2020 Congressional races didn’t include a gun control mandate. The Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D.Calif.) leads the U.S. House of Representatives. The U.S. Senate is equally divided. Gun sales have risen dramatically since the election. Now, there are more African-Americans, Hispanics, and Asian-Americans.

The Senate is stalling gun control bills that were passed without any debate in the House. The nomination of Chipman, a gun control activist and lobbyist, as ATF director by President Biden is still on hold. This is because of more allegations of racism and failures to disclose conversations with Communist Chinese media.

Gun control advocates see little hope for their chances in 2022’s midterm elections. The Census results show that districts are being redrawn, and Congressional seats are shifting away from Democratic gun control districts towards Republican pro-Second Amendment ones. The party in The White House usually suffers Congressional losses.

Gun Control Groups Target NSSF

Gun control groups such as Everytown, Brady United, and Giffords are all targeting NSSF, because the firearm industry trade organization has made it clear that Chipman is a criminal. He is a gun control advocate and not a serious contender for the ATF presidency. It would be like putting the fox in control of the henhouse. He would implement gun control through regulations Congress hasn’t authorized. He has testified to this in Congress before. He has never held executive-level leadership, and he has called gun owners “Tiger King” or “Zombie Apocalypse Preppers”. Charles Grassley, a ranking member of the Senate Judiciary Committee (Republican from Iowa), is requesting that the Department of Justice complete its investigation and hold another hearing.

This is gun control fuming. They are also geared up. November 2022 is in their sights already. Everytown’s “Demand a Seat” announcement is a reminder that Bloomberg will not buy anything to achieve his gun control agenda.
