This is often what we see when running Doppler Radar at Applied Ballistics Mobile Lab events. A bullet with a consistent BC (1% or less) may be shooting by someone who is seeing a higher BC variation. This could be due to bullet damage during loading. The lead photo shows the badly scratched jacket of a bullet sitting in a rough-mouthed box. To prevent jacket damage, one should chamfer and deburr the case mouths, then smoothen them after trimming. This variation can lead to increased vertical dispersion over a long range. This can lead to larger groups and lower scores.
