The attacker continued to attack her despite her panicked 911 call. The woman took her legally owned pistol and shot the man in self defense. According to reports, the intruder was killed on the spot in the 1600 block Flagler Drive. According to the New York Post: “Clearwater Police are still investigating the incident, but have classified it in a case of self defense at this stage.” Chief Daniel Slaughter, CPD Police, stated that the woman sustained injuries consistent with self-defense. He stated that he would not discuss the details of the incident, but that he could tell that she was asleep at the residence. She was attacked. She did sustain injuries consistent with the attack.” It would be very upsetting. This reality is confronted every day by both men and women.
