January 14, 2022CMP 2022 Competition Games ScheduleThe Civilian Marksmanship Program has released its Competition Games program for 2022. These events include pistol and rifle matches that are both for experienced shooters as well as novices. All Competition Games will feature both rifle and pistol matches. Participants can learn the basics of safe rifle handling with the Rifle Marksmanship 101 course. Another educational opportunity is the GSM (Garand-Springfield-Vintage Military Rifle) New Shooter Clinic, which provides individuals an inside look at competing in CMP Games events. CMP Armorers will be present and will host a M1 Garand Maintenance Clinic. CMP Targets will be used for all rifle competitions. This electronic target system displays shot placement instantly and eliminates the need to perform pit duty. It allows for faster matches and makes it easier for everyone to participate. CMP Highpower Team will also host a shooting clinic, with demonstrations from top civilian Highpower rifle competitors. Pistol Marksmanship 101 is a course that will provide an educational option for competitors both on and off the firing line. It is taught by CMP instructors who are also leaders in the field.
