Colt issues safety recall for AR-Type Rifles made in 2021

November 5, 2021 Colt issued a recall for certain Colt AR-type rifles manufactured in 2021. Here is the official Recall Notice: COLT’S Manufacturing LLC (“Colt”) recently discovered a safety issue with certain Modern Sporting Rifles (“MSRs”) Colt is initiating a voluntary recall to ensure the safety of its customers. It is possible that certain MSRs could fire a second round if the trigger is pulled when there is a live round inside the chamber. ColtRepairMSR.com has more information. Colt is committed achieving the highest quality standards and customer satisfaction. Colt found that certain MSRs manufactured after March 5, 2021 had hammers that did not conform to Colt’s specifications. The affected MSRs will be replaced with hammers to correct the problem. The recall covers only a portion MSRs manufactured before March 5, 2021. It includes the following models: AR15A4, CCR6700A4, CCR6920EPR and CR6921EPR. The following chart lists the serial numbers of the models that could be affected by the recall. Colt advises anyone who purchased a Colt MSR after March 5, 2021 to immediately stop using it and visit ColtRepairMSR.com. Or call Customer Service at 1-800-971-3216 if you have any questions. This recall does not apply to all MSRs in the range of serial numbers shown in the chart. This website provides easy-to-follow instructions that will help you determine if an MSR is affected.
