One MOA at 2472 yards is 25.88 inches. His three shots were very close together. Curtis was able make three consecutive impacts at 2472 yard, starting with a cold bore. This feat was witnessed by other competitors. Roman’s teammate David Lindsey, a skilled spotting and wind-reading expert, was able to set the Cold Bore ELR World Record. He was shooting a Sterling Precision-built.416 Stroker with 500-grain Cutting Edge Lazer bullets. The Kestrel 5700X was used to calculate the ballistics solution for the distance of 2472 yards. It also used Doppler radar data to calculate the Applied Ballistics. Rules for Extreme Long Range Competition
There are many rules for different ELR events at different venues. The Extreme Long Range Shooting Organization has developed a set of standardized rules to ensure that ELR matches are conducted under the same guidelines. Here are some highlights from the ELRSO Rules For Extreme Long Range Competition. Any rifle caliber up to and including.50 CAL may be shot at any ELRSO Unlimited competition. The maximum distance to the final target will not exceed 2,600 yards and not exceed 3,600 yards. To host an ELRSO Unlimited class match, the range must be at least 2,600 yards and no more than 3,600 yards.
