Photo of Aussie Wind Flags courtesy BRT Shooters Supply. Stuart Elliot, an Aussie friend of BRT Shooters Supply, recently filmed some videos at Brisbane’s QTS range. Stuart explained to us that he was filming in an Air Gun Benchrest match in Brisbane, Australia. I completed my target before the cease fire, and then took a slow-motion video to show windflag behavior. The velocity changes and angle swings that occur over a short distance (just 25m from bench to target) may surprise you. Stuart Elliot developed the flags shown in these videos. These flags are sold in the USA through Shadetree Engineering by Butch Lambert. Stuart states that this video may surprise some shooters who don’t use windflags. “Many people believe the wind doesn’t matter. It does matter, whether you’re using an airgun at 25m or a long-range centerfire at 1,000 meters. This video shows how wind can alter direction and velocity in a small area.
