The Civilian Marksmanship Program, or CMP, governed the international competition for the second consecutive year. The CMP hopes to grow the event by partnering with Green Valley and adding more shooters. The Bianchi cup, known as the gold-standard in action pistol shooting with a history of over 40 years, attracts some of the world’s top competitive pistol shooters. Koenig was in a close race with Bruce Piatt, a Team Vihtavuori teammate who loads his pistol ammunition with Vihtavuori’s N320 powder. Piatt was a close second, followed by SSG Walter Johnson and SSG Anthony Heinauer. Benito Martinez finished in third place. The top five finishers were separated by only 5 bullseyes. These two videos show Doug Koenig at the Bianchi cup range in previous years.
