Last year, we reported that Dr. Oz was a proponent for gun control and his support for red flag laws. He can’t help but be anti-gun despite his attempts to distance himself in recent months. He now calls for funding of CDC gun violence research, further demonstrating his views about the Second Amendment. RELATED STORY: Dr. Oz Supports Gun Control In Opposition to the Republican Party Dr. Oz Pushes for Funding CDC Gun Violence Research. I don’t think that research into violent crime should be considered a bad thing. It is the focus on one type of crime that is most troubling. Violent crime is a growing problem. Gun violence is not the only form of violence that Dr. Oz, Dr. Oz, and the Democrats seem to be concerned about. As I reported recently, the CDC is increasing its research into gun violence and how it can be a public health risk. We all know what happens when a public health risk is identified by the CDC. It seems Dr. Oz also knows what happens. His tweet calling for funding the CDC research and even calling gun violence a “public problem” dubious. The @CDCgov is currently not funded to study gun violence in this nation. It is time to treat shootings as a public problem. Call your congressperson today and demand that they fund the #CDC’s comprehensive study of gun violence. #EndTheBan https://t.co/iFDGMG7fI5 pic.twitter.com/lZdMXW5zLC — Dr. Mehmet Oz (@DrOz) March 14, 2018 It seems that anyone serious about ending violence would take a harder look at overall causes. I don’t believe the CDC will consider causes such as defunding law enforcement and soft-on-crime prosecutors. They also need to consider premature release of dangerous prisoners and no-cash bail. The CDC’s draconian lockdowns have created a mental health crisis. According to the NRA, in a Washington Times article, “Call this mission creep, bureaucratic imperative greed or a function o ideology, but it is clear the CDC and public officials are seeking to exert greater control over a greater range of people in a wider array of circumstances.” It is crazy to think that an anti gun candidate could be elected to represent Pennsylvania, which is the birthplace and home of independence. It was there that the Declaration of Independence and Gettysburg Address were written. It would be refreshing if he called for the CDC research on the cause, not the tool. He didn’t. He also focused on the gun. This excessive focus on one tool suggests that there is no fair or balanced research. This is a verdict seeking evidence. The CDC is an expert in the construction of evidence. Violence has been around for a long time and will continue to be. It is not possible to get rid of a problem by getting rid of a tool. It’s just smoke and mirrors, and once the audience realizes the trick it will be too late. Einstein said it best when he stated, “I don’t know with which weapons World War III will fought, but World War IV with sticks and stones will be fought.” But it will still be fought.
