This video by Mark Dalzell shows the long-range capability of the Savage 110 BA chambered for.338 Lapua Magnum. Mark took his “BadAss’ rig to the southwest Nevada Desert just north of Jean Dry Lakes. He placed a target 2’x3″ a mile away — 1760 yards. At that distance, the flight time from target to shooter was only 3.75 seconds. Mark used a Nightforce NXS 5-22x50mm scope to sight in. It took him a few shots before he was able to hit the target. He then made multiple hits using 67 MOA elevation and 2.25MOA left windage. The hits can be seen starting at the 1:56 mark on the video. Mark had a second video camera set up closer towards the target. This displays frame-in-frame in the video. If you watch carefully, you can see the hits. The ammo used was HSM 250gr match HPBT with a 3.600” COAL. The shooting took place at 8:13 am in clear conditions with very light winds. Temperature was 57deg. Humidity was 24.5.
