November 11, 2021. Do you like shooting reactive targets with handguns and plinking with rimfire rifles? Champion has created a series of targets that can tilt, spin, hop, roll, or bounce when they are hit. Champion’s DuraSeal targets are made from a rubber-like polymer that is self-healing. They can be hit dozens of time before they need to replace. They can last up to 200 rounds if you shoot only rimfire. We also like Champion’s weighted wobble targets. These targets come in two shapes: a bowling pin and a sphere attached to a post (photo right). These targets rock back and forth, side to side, when you hit them. The target will then return to its upright position by adding weights to the bottom. They are 80% lighter than metal targets. DuraSeal spinning targets can be seen every time your shot hits the target. DuraSeal’s hole-closing, self-sealing material allows bullets to pass through the target with minimal damage, prolonging its life. DuraSeal can absorb hundreds of rounds from handguns and rifles. Champion also offers “bouncing balls”, and 3D Star targets, which can hop and roll when shot. These are excellent long-range tactical rifle targets. Although the lifespan of these targets is not as good with heavy bullets, one of them or their star targets should be able to withstand many hits with a.223 Remington or 6mmBR. For the best target longevity, we recommend sticking with.22 LR rimfire round.
