FFL-holders and certain government agencies are now limited in firearms shipping privileges by FedEx. NOTE: This is not an update for 2022. These restrictions came into effect in Q3-2021. This policy is a significant change from the past and may not be known by the vast majority of gun owners. SEE FedEx Firearms shipping rules. This FedEx rule change severely restricts gun shipping options for normal Americans without Federal Firearms Licenses. FedEx policies state that “Nonlicensee shippers” are not allowed to ship firearms with FedEx. “In years past, a regular gun owner could send both long guns or handguns from primary FedEx locations provided that the contents were disclosed. This was important for sending guns to a gunsmith or returning guns to manufacturers for warranty work. These options are now limited. The U.S. can still ship long guns (rifles and shotguns), Postal Service and via UPS. The USPS bans handgun shipping. UPS is the only option for private individuals to ship handguns (pistols or revolvers) via UPS.
