CZ just announced the Scorpion 3+ Micro pistol caliber carbine, an improved version of the popular Scorpion EVO 3.
Since its release, the Scorpion EVO 3 has been a popular gun in its class. The 9mm Scorpion EVO was a large-format pistol or a pistol caliber carbbine. It offered good firepower and modern features all in a compact package. CZ recognizes that there are always improvements to be made, so they listened to customers and implemented the most requested upgrades to the Scorpion 3+ Micro. The first major improvement is the Scorpion 3+ Micro’s increased ambidexterity. The pistol’s bolt catch, mag release, and bolt catch can now be accessed from both sides of weapon. This makes mag release easier for those who are used to AR-style controls. The safety has been made ambidextrous so that the 3+ Micro can be used with either hand. The Scorpion 3+ Micro also has new magazines. However, they are at least compatible with older Scorpion EVO 3 models. This will reduce heat transfer to the shooter’s hands during firing and allow for more space for mounting accessories. The pistol grip has been improved to be more ergonomic. Iron sights have also been upgraded. They are now made from aluminum for greater durability and four apertures. They can also provide a lower 1/3 of co-witness to popular red dots models. The upper and lower receivers have been modified to improve modularity and ergonomics for shooters with larger hands. The barrel measures 4.2 inches and is threaded 1/2×28. It also includes a flash can. The Scorpion 3+ Micro will retail for $1,299 and comes with a 4.2-inch barrel. It also has a flash can and threaded 1/2×28.
