Three new Faxon AR-10 models have been developed in collaboration with Q LLC. They are available for preorder and will ship later in the summer. These ARs are unique because they were created in collaboration with Q LLC for their new 8.6 BLK cartridge. It’s easy to see how Q’s 8.6BLK has been referred to as the 300 BLK’s big sibling. The cartridge features a.308 bolt head and modified 6.5 Creedmoor Brass. It uses.338 caliber projectiles that can weigh in excess of 300 grains. The 8.6 BLK round is available in super and subsonic loads. It can deliver a lot on target. Faxon’s barrel production skills were the key to this idea being viable. It’s not easy to stabilize bullets this heavy, but Faxon was able to do it thanks to their 1:3 twist rate barrels. Faxon will be using the barrels to make the first weapons for 8.6 BLK. They will start with three AR-10 models, and then move on to bolt-actions. Both barrel styles can be purchased separately for custom builds. The 8.6 BLK AR-10 model is called the Faxon Senator and is available in three barrel lengths. Due to their 8-inch barrels and 12-inch barrels, two models can be sold as pistols. Both have an MSRP $2,299. The third model, a 16-inch rifle, has a MSRP of $2.399. The third model is a 16-inch rifle with a MSRP of $2,399.
