First Look: Ruger Marlin 1894 in.44 Magnum

Ruger continues to reintroduce classic Marlin lever action rifles, this time with a Marlin 1894 Classic chambered in.44 Magnum. This is a great lever gun for anyone who enjoys big-bore rifles. It can be used with either.44 Remington Magnum or.44 Special. The tube can hold 10 rounds of.44 Remington Magnum and 11 rounds.44 Special. The rifle features a 20-inch cold-hammer-forged alloy-steel barrel with a twist of 1:20 and standard 6-groove grooves. The Model 1894 is equipped with a semi-buckhorn adjustable rear sight, and a hooded brass bead for the front sight. The receiver, trigger guard plate, and lever are CNC-machined alloy steel forgings. All metal components have a satin blue finish. The Model 1894 is also notable for its checkered American walnut furniture, soft rubber recoil pads, cross-bolt safety, and sling swivels. According to Chris Killoy of Ruger, “Our focus remains on quality…We are committed to making firearms that are worthy of John Marlin’s legacy.” The Marlin Model 1894 Classic’s fit and finish is similar to what was produced in New Haven, CT by Marlin craftsmen many decades ago.Ruger has announced that more models will be available in different calibers and configurations in the next year. As of this writing, however, the Marlin Model 1894 Classic only ships to dealers. MSRP is $1,239.For more information, please visit marlinfirearms.com.More Lever-Actions:NEXT STEP: Download Your Free Storm Tactical Printable Target Pack62 Printable MOA Targets with DOT Drills – Rifle Range in YARDSThis impressive target pack from our friends at Storm Tactical contains62 printable targetsfor rifle and handgun range use.
