First Look: SAR9 CompactX

SARSILMAZ firearms are imported from Turkey by SAR USA. Many of the pistols and shotguns made by the company have been extremely popular on the U.S. Market for many years. The SAR 9 pistol series is one of these, and a new model has just arrived with the SAR9 Compact X. Although the SAR9 Compact X has many additional features and options, it also comes with a lot more than the standard model. The SAR9 Compact X is a striker-fired polymer-framed 9mm pistol with a 4-inch barrel, 15-round magazine capacity, and a polymer-framed frame. It features the same safety mechanisms (trigger, manual thumb), interchangeable backstraps, grip panels, and lightning cuts on the slide. There are also several color options for Cerakote. The Compact X is a complete carry kit, so much of the difference between the “X” model and the standard version is in what’s inside the box. Each pistol comes with two 15-round magazines, a flashlight for the accessory rail and a magazine pouch. All of this is packed in a carry case. Although the Compact X was mentioned in the press release as having an optics-ready slide included, this information is not supported. It would be a valuable addition feature, if true.
