First Look: Taurus 856 and Taurus 605 T.O.R.O. Optics-Ready Revolvers

Taurus made new ground at SHOT Show 2023 when they announced the Taurus 856 and 605 T.O.R.O. Optics-ready revolvers were the first of their kind. This has been true for semiauto handguns but has not been applied to revolvers. The company’s T.O.R.O. collection was released. The Taurus Optic Ready Option series includes the Taurus 856 T.O.R.O. The Taurus 605 T.O.R.O. is available in matte black. In matte stainless. The Taurus 605 T.O.R.O. is available in matte black. Both models are part of the T.O.R.O. Both models in the T.O.R.O. series have 3-inch barrels, rubber handles, and a matte black or matte Stainless finish. The revolvers include a plate that can accept any optic with the Holosun K footprint. Taurus highlights the advantages of mounting a red spot on a revolver. This includes the ability to zero the optic to an exact load of ammo. This is not possible with fixed-sight models such as the 856 or 605 models. The T.O.R.O. has one potential drawback. The red dots are so high that co-witnessing is impossible. The front sight can be replaced, but it is possible to remove it completely for a more smooth profile. All models are now available.
