FN America is known for producing firearms that can withstand harsh environments, including those used by the military, law enforcement and civilians. Its firearms have been a staple of American culture for decades. FN Herstal is also internationally recognized for its over 100-year history. With the new Reflex line, FN America expands its micro compact concealed carry market. The line offers a balance between accuracy and concealment while still offering high capacity. The FN Reflex Micro Compact 9mm Pistol Line is ideal for conceal carry. It has a 1-inch wide frame with optimized controls such as an oversized slide lock, and a low-profile, reversible magazine-release. The Reflex’s grip angle provides excellent control and a natural point-of-aiming. This allows for faster sight acquisition and match-grade accuracy. The pistol is also locked into the hand by aggressive in-mold texturing in the palm. Vertical scale-like texturing in the front and back straps helps prevent the pistol’s rocking under recoil. The low bore axis is a combination of the profile, grip angle, and texturing. This helps to reduce felt recoil. This creates a compact pistol that is easy-to-use and allows for faster follow-up shots. (Photo by FN America). The 6.2-inch slide sits atop the frame. It has front and rear cocking serrations that allow for easy racking and press checks. The slide is equipped with three-dot, iron sights and a tritium front night vision. The MRD model comes with a factory-milled optical cut for mounting optics with Shield RMSc footprints and Holosun K-Series footprints. The 3.3-inch cold-hammer-forged, target-crowned barrel that is chambered in 9mm adds to match-grade accuracy. A polished chamber and ramp ensure feed reliability. Reflex’s internal hammer design allows for slide manipulation with less slide-racking force. According to the company, round are sent downrange using a single-action trigger. The trigger is consistent in taking up the wall with a crisp break of approximately 5 pounds. The Reflex line has redundant safety features within the fire control to ensure safety while carrying. Capacity of FN Reflex: The FN Reflex ships two magazines for an excellent capacity. The 11-round magazine has a pinky extension that gives you a full grip. A flat baseplate is also included so that you can swap the pinky extension out for a lower carrying profile. A 15-round extended magazine also features a grip sleeves with the same aggressive in mold stippled texture. For a full grip and better recoil control, the grip sleeve extends approximately 1 inch from the frame’s bottom. “Innovation is the heart of FN’s product design efforts. We strive to improve the existing landscape and deliver products that are meaningfully better than the status quo, and the FN Reflex has achieved this,” stated Mark Cherpes, President & CEO of FN America, LLC. “Our customers now have a firearm that they can trust to perform when seconds matter, that is backed up by a quality promise rooted within our battle-tested heritage.” Availability Currently, the FN Reflex micro compact 9mm pistol range is available with MSRPs ranging from $599.00 – $659.00 depending on model.
