The Forster Accu-Ring makes it easier to set up your Sizing Die by providing reference marks in millimeter increments (.001?). Simply use a fine ink marker (.001?) to place a reference line on your die. To increase or decrease the amount of shoulder bump, turn the die counterclockwise (i.e. Increase the case’s headspace length. There are many factors that can affect the shoulder bump of different sizes of cases. These include the quality of the brass or springback, the type of case lube used and whether an expander ball was pulled through the neck. Referring to the reference marks on the lock ring will help to determine the length of the case’s headspace. If the ring isn’t tightened, you will get inconsistent results.
