The ZEISS Hunting App has many useful functions. It includes a full-featured ballistics calculator and field notes with photo archive. It also offers GPS tagging to document hunting experiences. The Hunting App is available as a free download for Android and iOS (iPhone/iPad). The Zeiss Hunting App includes many useful features, including a ballistics solver and compass, GPS tag, hunt history, and GPS tagging. The “Field Notes” function can record a variety of information. You can save photos, track your shots and hits, log animal sightings, and plot game locations on a Google map. Zeiss says: “This allows users the ability to optimally record events and the game population in their hunting territory, as well as their hunting experiences.” You can tag shots via GPS by indicating the target’s and shooter’s positions. Then, they are displayed on a map. Field Notes hunt diary displays all entries in chronological order.
The integrated ballistic calculator allows hunters the ability to modify the settings to best suit their favorite cartridges. You can either enter your own data or select from a list of bullet/cartridge information from over 7000 different manufacturers. Weather Functions
The weather tool provides a 5-Day Forecast and can be used to select multiple locations. The weather tool can display the weather conditions for the hunting area of your choice, in addition to the current location. Weather forecasts include temperature, precipitation and wind speed.
