It keeps it out of my backpack, and makes it easy to find in an emergency. Galco now offers the same convenience for large-frame semiautos with its new High Ready Chest Holder. RELATED STORY Galco 4.0: Galco High Ready Chest Holster Updated for Weapon Lights Galco VHS 4.0. Constructed from a ballistic nylon front and a closed-cell foam core, the innovative backing plate offers outstanding comfort. Galco’s Comfort Cloth Lining is also featured on the back of the plate that rides against the chest. Comfort Cloth is an adaptive performance mesh that provides moisture-wicking and padding. Attached to the backing plate, a rigid, open-top Kydex pocket with full slide coverage is mounted. The holster pocket’s position allows for quick draw and a full firing grip. Re-holstering is also easy. Mounted optics can also be mounted because of the pocket cut. The holster is secured by three metal side-release buckles that are quick and secure. It uses 2-inch straps to evenly distribute the weight. One strap goes over the shoulder, the other around the torso. The straps attach at the backing plate and allow it to pivot for added comfort. Galco states that the High Ready is comfortable for carrying a large-frame semiauto in a convenient chest position. This makes it ideal for protecting you when hunting, fishing or camping in bear country. The handgun is kept clear of any gear that may be carried close to the waistline or on your back by being placed on the chest. This helps to keep the handgun dry while wading and makes it a great choice for riding on ATVs or horses. GalcoGunLeather.com has more information.
