The ZEISS Hunting App has many useful functions, including a full-featured calculator for ballistics, field notes, a photo archive, compass, GPS tagging, and a detailed forecast service. The Hunting App can be downloaded for free on Android and iOS devices (iPhone/iPad). Zeiss Hunting App has many useful features – ballistics solvers, compasses, GPS tagging and hunt history. The “Field Notes’ function allows you to record a variety of information — you can save pictures, log your shots and hits, track animal sightings, and even plot the game locations on a mapping. Zeiss explains that this allows users to record events, game populations in the hunting territory and their own hunting experience. Shots can be tagged using GPS by the shooter and target positions, and displayed on a map. The Field Notes hunt journal displays all entries in chronological sequence.Full Featured Ballistics CalculatorThe ballistic calculator integrated into the app allows hunters to easily adjust settings to their preferred cartridges. You can choose to enter your own data or select from a database of over 7000 different ammunition types. Ballistics solvers can be programmed to take into account the current weather conditions, including temperature and humidity, as well as the angle of the shot.
You can select multiple locations and the tool will provide a five-day forecast. Users can display the weather in their chosen hunting area, as well as the current location. The forecast includes temperature, precipitation and wind direction. It also includes humidity, air pressure, and airpressure. Field Notes can be used for many different things. You can log your shots and hits and plot game sightings while hunting. Photos and GPS data can be added to events. The Field Notes mapping feature allows you to locate game populations within the hunting territory. The list of smart features is completed by a compass, automatic night mode, and ballistics.
