September 28th 2022. Last year, more than 30 million Americans participated or hunted. It is notable that there is more diversity among hunters than ever before. In 2021, 32% (versus 25% a decade earlier) of target shooters will be female. The Outdoor Foundation and the Council to Advance Hunting and the Shooting Sports released this interesting information in a report. The report highlights:Firearms Target Shooting Participation:– 6.2% of the U.S. population participated in target shooting. This is an increase from 25% a decade ago. Highlights of the new report include:Firearms Target shooting Participation:–6.2% of the U.S. Population Aged 6 and Over participated in target shooting.–32% of participants were women, up from 25% a decade back.–4.6% of the U.S. Population Aged 6 and Over went hunting at least once.–27% of participants where female, up 16% from a decade earlier.–68% of hunters were introduced by family members. – 49% of hunters participated in hunting before they were 18.
