The “Guntry Club” has taken shooting ranges to a new level. This new type of recreational/social facility combines amenities from a Country Club with a shooting range. Imagine a high tech indoor range with a “Pro Shop”, upscale restaurant, and perhaps outdoor shooting facilities. In the last five years, a growing number of these “Guntry Clubs”, which are deluxe shooting ranges, have opened across the country. GunVenture television featured some of the finest gun clubs in the country. Tom Gresham, RECOIL Magazine’s Iain Harrison and the Scottsdale Gun Club were the first “Guntry Clubs”. Tom then visited a high end facility in Centennial Colorado. The upscale Centennial Gun Club includes a retail shop, range, training centre, and lounge. Here’s a CBS News article on upscale “Guntry Clubs”, luxury facilities that target younger, wealthier patrons. Chip Reid reports from a high-end Gun Club in Manassas Virginia: “This shooting range is not for your grandfather.” Elite Shooting Sports has 65,000 square feet of polished wood, flat screen TVs and state-of-the-art equipment.
