Gun Control Polls in 2022 Show That It Isn’t a Leading Concern

Gun pearl-clutchers are in a frenzy. Voter polls show that gun control is not a major concern in 2022, as America is getting closer to Election Day, Nov. 8.

Gun Control Polls Show That Other Concerns Top the Agenda for 2022

Voters will be focusing on the most pressing issues, such as runaway inflation, rising crime, and the rising cost of living. Voters are more concerned with what the Biden administration does to their pockets today than what it plans to do tomorrow to gun rights.

Voter enthusiasm for gun control is declining. According to The Reload, just one percent of likely voters ranked gun control as their top issue in a poll by The New York Times.

Survey Says

This poll was not an anomaly. According to a Harvard CAPS Harris Poll, crime, inflation and immigration were the top three concerns of voters, The Hill reported. Monmouth University polls show that gun control is ninth on the list. This is out of 12 voter priorities. The same poll actually showed a 30% approval for President Joe Biden regarding gun control.

The president has not stopped calling for strict and unconstitutional gun control measures. Just weeks before the election, President Joe Biden reiterated his call for banning Modern Sporting Rifles (“MSRs”), which he calls “assault weapon”

These rifles are the most widely-sold centerfire rifle in America, with over 24.4 million in circulation. This makes them “commonly used” in the Heller decision. These rifles are more common in America than the Ford F-150s.

A poll conducted by Tufts University School of Medicine and a gun control advocacy group found that only one-third of gun owners support an MSR ban.

This shows that the Biden administration is more focused than the American public on delivering for donor-class special interest groups. Americans are more focused upon the issues that affect them.

NBC News reported that Change Research conducted a survey online of 715 adult Black women voters. This poll was conducted in coordination with a political committee that works to elect Black progressive women throughout the country. These are typically gun control supporters. This is not the case.

According to NBC, “76% of Black women stated that they are extremely concerned about inflation and rising prices of essentials such as rent and housing, food, gas, and affordable healthcare.”

Plan B

Gun control groups are scrambling to combat this. Instead of spending money to support their preferred candidates for gun control, they are focusing on other issues. The Reload reported that Michael Bloomberg, antigun billionaire, owns Everytown for Gun Safety and is buying airtime to attack candidates who support gun rights.

Everytown is not leading the attack with gun control discussions. Instead, they are attacking Joe O’Dea, a Republican candidate in Colorado, over his position on abortion. He is challenging Democratic U.S. Senator Michael Bennett.

It’s not just about him. Everytown is running similar ads against Tudor Dixon, the Republican gubernatorial nominee in Michigan, and against Herschel Walker, the Republican U.S. Senate candidate in Georgia.

#GUNVOTE(r)

Voters will choose between candidates who support strict and radical gun control policies or those who would protect their rights, and the industry that allows them to exercise them.

Gun control candidates and the groups that support them know that voters are not accepting their messages. They have switched tactics because of this. NSSF reminds all voters to “Don’t risk your rights.” #GUNVOTE.”
