The trend is not surprising for the firearm industry. Americans feel unsafe because of progressive soft-on-crime policies. Millions of people are making a difference and they’re accepting the Second Amendment. Many voters are switching parties because of the gun control agenda.

Recent Rasmussen poll shows that Americans reject more gun control

1 Million Voters Change Party over Gun Control Issues
This is another sign of a possible political wipeout of gun control-supporting Democrats, who have pushed policies that fail criminals to be held accountable for their crimes but punish law-abiding Americans. According to the Associated Press, more than 1,000,000 Americans have joined the Republican Party. This shift is affecting all parts of the country.
Ben Smith, a suburban Denver resident, said that “it’s more so an rejection of the Left.” Smith said that he registered as Republican earlier in the year because he was “increasingly concerned about Democrats’ inability of quelling violent crime.”
Suburban Swing
The AP reported on more than 1.7million Americans who switched parties in the past year. Two-thirds of those surveyed went to the GOP. Comparatively, 630,000 were registered as Democrat. The party that supports gun control and defunding the police has a major problem in suburban voters like Smith, who are concerned about crime and their ability protect their families and themselves. This includes legalizing the purchase of a firearm.

According to the AP report, “Nowhere is this shift more pronounced — or dangerous for Democrats — than the suburbs… Over a year, far fewer people have switched to the GOP in suburban counties from Denver to Atlanta to Pittsburgh and Cleveland.” In counties surrounding medium-sized cities, such as Harrisburg (PA), Raleigh, North Carolina, Augusta, Georgia, and Des Moines (Iowa), Republicans have also gained ground.
This analysis is supported by data from the FBI National Instant Criminal Background Check System, (NICS) and NSSF retailer surveys. Background checks for firearm sales have been significantly higher in each of the states than the yearly averages over the years before 2020.
Colorado has had nearly 700,00 background checks since 2020 for firearm purchases. The Georgia number is close to 650,000. Pennsylvania has over 1.3 million, while Ohio has over 860,000.
Onnie Brow, a Phoenix resident, purchased her first firearm out of safety concerns for herself and her children. Onnie Brow now owns several and was worried about strangers threatening her house.

Brown stated that having firearms in her home makes her feel more secure. “I don’t want to draw a gun on anyone, but I’m glad it’s there if I ever need to.”
SCOTUS Scramble
The U.S. Supreme Court’s decision in New York to repeal its restrictive and subjective “may-issue” pistol permit law was the most significant gun rights victory for more than a dozen decades. The decision strengthens the God-given right of law-abiding Americans in possessing a firearm for self defense in and outside the home. However, the defeat has already caused the Blue-state governors to scramble in defeat to determine what options they have to reimpose restrictive gun laws.
New York Democratic Governor Kathy Hochul called the New York Democratic Governor “absolutely shocking” and asked her state legislature to return for an emergency session. Eric Adams, the New York City Democratic Mayor, even called Gov. Hochul will “lead a charge” against the SCOTUS decision. Mayor Adams’s city has gun control laws that are even stricter than the state.
Media were told by the mayor that America was now a very dangerous country because of the Supreme Court, especially New York City.

His city’s voters, who are already hampered by gun control laws as well as the whims and desires of dangerous criminals, give him failing grades for keeping New York City safe.
New Jersey’s Democratic Governor. Phil Murphy is following suit. “Let me make it clear that we here in New Jersey will do everything possible to protect our residents,” said the governor.
California’s Democratic Governor was elected. Gavin Newsom joined in the gun control chorus, and “raged!” at the Supreme Court decision.
He tweeted: “This is a dangerous court decision from a hell bent on pushing radical ideological agendas and infringing upon the rights of states that protect our citizens. . .”

Electoral Consequences
Partisan gun control officials continue to deny reality. Their voters are tired to be put in danger by misguided policies that include increasing gun control and “defunding the police” schemes that threaten them and their families. Surprisingly, law-abiding Americans tell them that “I’ll make it myself!”
They have made it clear by purchasing legally a firearm. As more data shows, they are also exercising their political power at the ballot box. Voters will replace elected officials who refuse to listen to the voters’ will.
The #GUNVOTE(r), a campaign by NSSF, was launched to register gun owners to vote and educate them about Second Amendment issues as well as the policies and records of candidates for office. Voters are reminded by the firearm industry that they must not risk their rights when casting their ballots. #GUNVOTE”
