The reticle can be set to either a 2-MOA dot or a 65-MOA circular, or both. The optic is powered by a CR2032 lithium battery, but it also draws ancillary power via the top-mounted solar panel. This doubles as a light sensor and allows for automatic brightness adjustment. You can adjust the auto-adjust or shake-awake settings to suit your needs, or disable them completely. The Holosun AEMS will last for up to 50,000 hours with the dot set at an average brightness level in normal conditions. A co-witness mount with absolute co-witness is also available. The mounts allow the Holosun to be used on any AR, HK, or other long gun. The AEMS is innovative because it fits inside a small housing. However, it is durable and affordable. The AEMS will allow shooters to reduce the weight of their rifle and clear up rail space. It also retains an optic that is more usable than other micro red dots.
