John Fetterman Gun Control Program if Elected Pennsylvania Senator

Pennsylvania’s Democratic Lieutenant Governor. John Fetterman has some ideas to help end gun control if he wins the November election. The man who once used a shotgun to attack an African-American man he wrongly believed was involved with a crime, wants to abolish the Second Amendment.

Lt. Lt. Governor John Fetterman Sees Gun Control If He Wins the Senate Race

Lt. Gov. Fetterman, the tattooed and hoodie-wearing Senate Candidate, is vying to take the seat vacated by retiring Senator Pat Toomey (R.Pa.). He wants to be President Joe Biden’s largest gun control ally. He has a few thoughts about gun control. All of them would reduce the Second Amendment to a second-class rights.

AR-15s

Lt. Gov. Fetterman’s radical gun control ideas are more radical than even President Biden’s far-left proposals. President Biden begs Congress to pass legislation to ban the sale and purchase of America’s most popular centerfire rifle.

Democrats and gun control supporters continue to target the Modern Sporting Rifle (MSR), or AR-15-style rifle. This is despite all the fact that murders committed by all rifles are only three percent of all murders.

Today, there are more than 24.4 million MSRs. They are unquestionably “commonly utilized” (owned) according to the Heller decision of the U.S. Supreme Court.

If Lt. Governor. Fetterman can change his title to “senator” but he isn’t content with a ban on MSR sale. He wants to make it illegal for anyone to own one.

“I’ve always supported an assault rifle ban,” Lt. Gov. Fetterman stated April 11. Fetterman stated April 11.

This is the false and repeated line gun control uses to demonize the black rifle that looks very similar to the M-16 and M-4.

The Washington Post reported Josh Sugarmann, of Violence Policy Center’s gun control group, invented the term “assault weapons” in 1989 to confuse people who didn’t know what the difference was. Thirty-years later, Lt. Governor. Fetterman is still at the job.

Filibuster

Lt. Gov. Fetterman is aware that the Senate procedural rule, known as the “filibuster”, is what prevents the Senate from steamrolling American Constitutional rights. He wants to eliminate that too.

“That’s why I called for the removal of the filibuster. He said that 80 to 90% of Americans support banning assault rifle ownership and common-sense gun controls legislation.

But that’s not the truth. Gun control is still a more important concern than crime. Lt. Gov. Fetterman talks big about fighting out-of-control crimes, but his record shows otherwise.

To prevent anyone from identifying him with the group’s defunding movement, he removed any mention of Black Lives Matter.

“Pardons, commutations have soared ever since Fetterman took office in 2019, consistent his progressive philosophy on criminal Justice reform,” NBC News reported.

Gun Control Ambitions

Lt. Gov. Fetterman doesn’t just want to ban lawful firearm ownership. This raises its own Constitutional issues. He also has the water for gun control groups and other pet projects.

He wants universal background checks that are not enforceable without the creation a national firearm registry. Of course, a registry like this is a violation federal law.

He would like to repeal the Protection of Lawful Commerce in Arms Act. This Act forbids lawsuits against firearm industry for crimes committed by remote third parties, also known as criminals. Lt. Gov. Fetterman wants to blame the criminal actions of gun makers, not the criminals who commit the crimes.

Lt. Gov. Fetterman also wants the “Dickey Amendment” to be repealed. This is the amendment that prevents the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention from advocating for gun controls.

He falsely claims that the Dickey Amendment prohibits the CDC reporting on criminal violence and firearms. As NSSF previously pointed out, this was not true.

NRA members targeted

He also called NRA members the “lunatic fringe” of gun ownership.

Lt. Gov. Fetterman presents himself as the center when discussing gun owners because “I own guns.” He said that he went deer hunting as a youngster. He said, “I have owned a Smith & Wesson 500.” He said, “I’ve been around guns for most my life.”

This includes the time he admitted to using a shotgun against an African American male he saw running and suspected of committing crime.

Lt. Gov. Fetterman, “followed him in a pickup truck and pulled a 20-gauge gun on him when he confronted him. Fetterman used the gun on the man to hold him until police arrived. The man was not ultimately involved in any wrongdoing.”

Lt. Gov. Fetterman admitted that he believed he did the right thing in a 2013 interview. However, he may have violated the law.

Gun Control Support

None of this matters to Lt. Gov. Fetterman and the gun control groups that support him. Everytown for Gun Safety (an anti-gun billionaire who backed Michael Bloomberg’s failed presidential bid) committed to spending $2.1million on ads supporting Lt. Governor. Fetterman’s campaign and others.

Nearly half of all Philadelphians will spend that amount in their hometown. Punchbowl News reported Bloomberg giving an additional $500,000 for In Union USA. This money was used to boost Fetterman’s stock.

This is why it’s so important for those who are concerned about preserving their Second Amendment rights that they get registered, learn more about their candidates, and get out on November 8 and #GUNVOTE.
