King of 2 Miles Event in Raton, New Mexico

September 28th, 2021 Officially began yesterday at the Whittington Centre in Raton, New Mexico, the 2021 King of 2 Miles ELR contest. This event, the “Olympics of Extreme Long Range (ELR shooting),” attracts some of the most skilled marksmen on the planet. They campaign rifles capable of astonishing accuracy at extreme distances. Amazing marksmanship was displayed, as well as the impressive bullet, barrel, optics technology. After Day 1, Ryan Cheney is leading KO2M Qualifications. He shot perfect 3-for-3s at 1692, 2097 and 2376 yards and also got one hit at the 2550-yard target. SEE Day One Results. Here are some of these cartridges that were used in ELR Competition. Many competitors are now using high-capacity cartridges with ultra-precision lathe-turned solid ammunitions.

The Applied Ballistics Team visited Raton early to test their Doppler Radar equipment. This can create very precise custom ballistics profiles to fit the ELR rifles.
