It is crucial to provide quality, thoughtful, thoughtful, and well-designed training content for firearm owners of all experience levels. But, not every platform is perfect.
Ernest and Aimee Langdon are here to change the game. They are the president & vice president of Langdon Tactical Technology (LTT), a renowned firearms customization company.
The Backstory
Ernest’s military service includes 12 years active-duty in the United States Marine Corps. Ernest has over 30 years of competitive shooting experience. He has been awarded the Grand Master rating in USPSA (United States Practical Shooting Association). He is also a Distinguished Master in IDPA, the International Defensive Pistol Association. He has also won ten National Championships as well as two World Speed Shooting titles.
Aimee is a global professional with over 16 years of experience in professional business development, sales and marketing. She has been a podium finisher at The Tactical Games three times, twice in first place and once in second at the 2021 Nationals. She is a leader in Business Development and Operations at LTT and a dedicated mom.

Video Series and Comprehensive Training Resources Available for Free
“… is a free video series and training resource that aims to provide great information and resources to help those who want to own a firearm, without fear or perfection.
The curriculum is based on Ernest and Aimee’s unique perspectives and experience levels. It also draws on the insights and contributions of influential pillars, experts, and members of the 2A community. The series is a welcoming, inclusive, and well-rounded resource.
I have recently navigated the series’ website and series myself. LTT Discover is a refreshing new approach, as I have experience with other options. Even the most experienced and well-trained firearms professionals should find great value in LTT Discover.
I had the opportunity to talk with the founders recently about their journey. We talked about the creation of LTT Discover and what lies ahead for the community. This is especially relevant to the future of firearms education.
QUESTIONS AND ANSWERS
How did you meet?
AIMEE: We were colleagues at a robotics company for six-years. We both began new chapters in our lives and found love.
How does it feel to balance family life, work, and training? How do you manage it all?
ERNEST: Balance. We must balance work and family time. Sometimes we succeed. Fitness and nutrition are key components of our family unit. We love to cook and are active together.
AIMEE: We also attend classes and courses with other instructors, outside of our private shooting training.
I believe the Discover platform was partly developed from your training experiences. What is that dynamic like at the range
AIMEE: Have your tried to teach your spouse something? HA! We shoot together all of the time and, as a couple manage it better than most.
ERNEST: Over the years, we can count silently how many times we have left the range. We have learned how to teach and how to be a student, while still maintaining a close relationship.
AIMEE: It can be difficult to correct and teach all the time. Sometimes, however, it helps to separate the emotion from the task. Sometimes, he needs to be reminded that “positive reinforcement also helps” or “hey, let’s just shoot today!”
ERNEST (laughing). Sometimes I just need to keep my mouth closed.
What were the “aha!” moments that led you to consider LTT Discover? What were the “aha! moments” that led you to start to think about developing LTT Discover?
ERNEST: Discover was developed because we saw a gap in education and information for people who were not tactical, LE, or related to the LE/MIL communities. We are often asked for guidance, information, and/or training as business owners. As we grew, more people asked for our assistance. We began to look for places to send them.
AIMEE: Guilty of association. I assumed that Ernest was as skilled and experienced as I was early on. But the truth is that I had never touched a handgun prior to our meeting. Discover’s “Carry Journey” component was created from gun owners’ first-hand experiences with firearms. It also incorporates health and fitness to make the decision to purchase a firearm.
It’s a common assumption in the tactical industry that you must follow certain rules if you want to own a firearm. It’s intimidating for millions of people, and many gun owners today.
Who is LTT Discovery for?
ERNEST: LTT Discover is open to everyone, from those who think about firearms ownership to those who have firearms every day.
How important is community and community building in the 2A industry and space?
Aimee: We believe community and community building are very important. A community is a place that provides raw emotion and cares for others in a positive way.
A strong community is a safe place for people to seek information and ask questions without fear of being ridiculed or made fun of because of their inability to understand and/or lack of knowledge.
Ernest: Being part of a community allows people to ask questions, agree or disagree with each other, and be guided by real people who have a real perspective, position, or experience.
What was the initial reaction to LTT Discover since its launch?
AIMEE: We are overwhelmed by Discover’s positive response. We have received many “ah-ha”s and thanks from both men and women who feel that the information is clear, concise, and not intimidating. Many gun owners and enthusiasts have been able use it to share information with their loved ones.
Let me close by asking you what your personal hopes and dreams are for the industry and the general public.
AIMEE: We hope Langdon Tactical, as a brand, will be a resource for products and training (as is it today), but also as an educational resource that provides a welcoming environment that guides people to be more confident, independent, and empowered as individuals.
