The Streamlight TLR-8Sub is designed to be used with railed subcompact weaponry. It builds on the TLR-7 platform. The new weapon lights go one step further by using laser technology. The high-lumen output ensures no potential threat is missed under the veil. The Streamlight TLR-8 sub weapon-mounted light is constructed of 6000 Series aircraft-grade aluminum. It builds on the success of the TLR-7. The TLR-8 Sub and TLR-8 G Sub have the same durability and reliability as the predecessors. The TLR-8 Sub models also have IPX4 water resistance. It is important to note that IP4 is the lowest rating. You won’t want the TLR-8 Sub submerged in water. The TLR-8 weighs in at 2.71 ounces and measures 1.45-to 1.63-inches in height (depending on the model). The light’s LED is housed inside. It can deliver 5,000 candelas and 500 lumins over a beam distance up to 141 meters. The custom TIR optic also produces a concentrated beam with a wide range and optimal peripheral coverage. Each mode has a runtime time of 1.5 hours and includes LED only, LED/Laser and user-enabled flash. There are two color options for lasers: red and green. The red laser has a runtime of 60 hours, while the green one offers an 11-hour runtime. Each light is powered by a single 3-volt lithium battery CR123A and operated via a next-generation rear paddle control. The lights are also protected by a safe-off function that prevents them from being accidentally turned on. Each model has a snap-on, tighten and lock interface. It also includes a special clamp system that mounts to rails using the supplied key kit. They will fit certain Glock, Sig Sauer and Springfield Armory short-railed subcompact handguns.
