May 2nd 2023After Washington House Bill 1240 was signed into law by Washington State Governor Jay Inslee on 4/25/23, a legal action was filed in Federal District Court, Eastern Washington, by several plaintiffs, to combat this overreaching legislative. Banta et al v. Ferguson is a case that seeks a permanent and temporary injunction based upon the unconstitutionality HB 1240. Second Amendment Foundation has also filed a lawsuit. This other lawsuit, named Hartford v. Ferguson was filed in the U.S. District Court for Western District of Washington.The Eastern District of Washington U.S. District Court filed the action to contest HB 1240. Plaintiffs include Amanda Banta, Sharp Shooting Indoor Range & Gun Shop (2012 Olympian Sport Shooter), The Range LLC Aero Precision LLC and the NSSF. The complaint was filed against defendants Robert W. Ferguson (Attorney General of Washington State) and John R. Batiste (Chief of the Washington State Patrol). Scott Dover CEO of Aero Precision said: “We don’t agree with this law, and we don’t think it is constitutional.” Dover said: “HB 1240 prohibits some of the most popular firearms and parts.” It affects the legal ownership of products that we manufacture and sell to our customers in Washington. Aero Precision employees who make these parts are also restricted in their rights. We will fight against this law and are confident of the outcome, given the clear rulings from multiple Supreme Court cases including Heller and Bruen. “Banta et al vs Robert W.
